My Beloved Middle Sister has a job interview today; which has made her a bit skittish and excitable. As a result, she’s invented a new game she wants us to play called “Lyricise Me”.
The premise is simple: she will call me at any time of the day or night and say “Lyricise Me” before saying a song lyric. I will then have to immediately say the next lyric, without hesitation, or I lose “the round”.
In the event that it’s 4am and I don’t answer, she will leave a voicemail. In this instance, the first thing I have to do when I pick up the voicemail is call her back and immediately complete the lyric.
For example:
Ring-ring…ring-ring…ring-ring…
“hello?”
“lyricise me- I shot a man in
“Just to watch him die.”
Click…buzzzzzzzz
And that’s how it works. Simple, but fun.
What makes the game unique is that we have a “non-over-use pact”. This is basically to ensure some time is left between rounds and that it stays as random and unexpected as possible. Also, we’re not playing the game with anyone else –it’s an exclusive sibling piece of nonsense and should be a lot of fun.
